Patricia Da Silva

Patricia Da Silva graduated from McGill University and started her marketing career in the corporate world before moving on to pursue her entrepreneurial dreams. She joined her family’s business, ECOGOLD, as VP of Marketing and helped build the brand from local operation to international leader, working with Olympic teams and supplying equestrians around the world. During her tenure at ECOGOLD, the company won the 2011 Equestrian Social Media Award (ESMA) and the 2013 Equestrian Digital Award for best e-commerce website (worldwide).
In 2011, Patricia launched Horse Junkies United (HJU), an online publication dedicated to amateur equestrians. The website quickly gained popularity and was recognized for its excellence, winning a 2013 ESMA and the prestigious Susan Anstey Trophy – Equine Canada Media Award in 2014. Patricia has also published a book about the launch of HJU; Horse Junkies United – A Year of Making the Ordinary Extraordinary, a collection of the best stories and photos from its first year.
During her career in equestrian media, Patricia has covered the world’s most prestigious equestrian competitions including the 2014 World Equestrian Games, The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials, Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event, the Los Angeles Masters, and the Winter Equestrian Festival.
In 2014, Patricia launched Heels Down Magazine, an interactive digital magazine for the next generation of equestrians. The app had 3,700 installs and a 365% growth in paid subscribers in the last 10 months of 2015.
Her latest entrepreneurial venture is the creation of Stable & Spice, a new food and fitness platform promoting a healthy lifestyle for the equestrian athlete, and The Scope Network, an exclusive group of elite equestrian social media influencers.
Patricia has been a guest speaker at Otterbein University’s equine business program and has also served on the board of directors for animal rescue organizations Animatch and A Horse Tale.
