Doubt, stress, and exhaustion all come with being an entrepreneur. So how do you know that these feelings are just par for the course or a sign that you are chasing a dream that isn’t meant to be?

When you find yourself filling your coffee cup 8 times a day, you may start to wonder if it is normal. The stress from any job can cause you to feel exhausted, but sometimes it’s a sign that you just don’t enjoy your job anymore. It could be pulling the life from you because you just aren’t fulfilled. If you find that you become inspired again and get a sudden burst of energy after a three day slump, stick it out! You could just be experiencing the ebb and flow of entrepreneurship.

When you love your job, you get a sense of pride in your job. You got two new followers on Instagram, yeah! You booked a new client, yeah! Your new business cards came in, yeah! Even the little things excite you when you are following your true passion. If you find yourself just following the motions and don’t experience the small victories, it may be time to move on.

Stress and Boredom

Stress comes with any job, and all jobs have tasks that are boring. So don’t be surprised when you find yourself stressing over a deadline or dreading month end numbers. When you start to have stress for which you can’t seem to pinpoint the cause, you may need to evaluate your job. It can begin to take a toll mentally when you are not happy in your position.

There will always be times when you question if you are doing the right thing and going down the right path. No one said owning a business was easy. When it comes to a point that the questions start outweigh your determination, take a step back and look at your business overall. If you can’t find happiness despite the hardships, it may just be time to move on.
